No particular order, my ten best albums of the 2002:

I Get Wet by Andrew W.K. (Not one weak track. Years from now this will rightly be viewed as a pop version of MBV's Loveless.)

Lapalco by Brendan Benson (Loved it the first thirty or so times I listened but I'm burned out on it now. Luckily, I lost it.)

Phrenology by The Roots (Get more and more fucked up while the album plays -- it's gettin' nice right along with ya!)

Original Pirate Material by The Streets (You need to hold it down Jack, put your phone back!)

Sea Change par Beck (Took me a couple listens to get into it. My trick was pretending I was listening to some unknown singer/songwriter who just happened to have a mind-blowing producer.)

The Creek Drank the Cradle by Iron and Wine (Didn't have to pretend for this guy.)

Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots by the Flaming Lips (Keeps gettin better and better.)

Yankee Hotel Foxtrot by Wilco (Well, duh.)

Slicer and Dread by Wolf Eyes (Fine, these were technically reissues, but tape-only releases don't count to me.)

Stuff I never heard but still want to: Blackalicious, any Def Jux release this year, Black Dice, ummm, Solomon Burke?
