2002-03-29 - 3:38 p.m. I think I’m just going to write this and leave today. Yesterday I didn’t leave quite as early as I had originally planned, but that was just fine. I worked nine to six and got a hell of a lot done. Today, I was left with nothing really to do. So I cleaned up a bit (wait a minute, no I didn’t). No, actually I just listened to my two new CDs today – Ghostface’s Bulletproof Wallets and the new Andrew W.K. Both are excellent discs. And I plan to listen to both extensively (even beyond yesterday and today’s already extensive listening) when I get home tonite. Which hopefully won’t be too far away. It’s Good Friday and all, the Son of Man is dead temporarily, and there was talk of the office being dismissed early. I don’t think that really happened, but I might get a bit proactive and dismiss myself in a quick minute. To kill some time today I took a walk the this public park on the Hudson River that’s essentially a concrete pier that juts out into the water and affords a sweet view of everything. On my way through Chelsea and the Meatpacking District on Ninth Ave I glanced across 16th Street. This lanky guy resembled my brother, especially in the hair department. As I got closer I thought, wow, this dude looks a lot like Andy Dick. That’s who it was. This guy in my high school class used to tell me every day for several months that my little brother, who was then 15, looked like Matthew from Newsradio. Dammit, he was right, even six years ago. So Andy was “with” a guy. Back to his old ways, thank God. I got so sick of that middle period when he’d date 19-year-old girls and wrap his Viper around telephone poles and show up on Howard Stern coked out. All right, I’m leaving. F this. It’s F train time! Happy birthday to Lauren. Sweet. previous next
